Podcasting allows you to connect with your association members anytime and anywhere. Podcasts are easy for your members to consume because they’re portable and convenient to listen to. They’re also the perfect way for you to create a more personal connection with your members
40 percent of Americans say they’ve listened to a podcast at some point in their life—the largest reporting number since Edison Research started tracking the statistic back in ’06. Plus, nearly a quarter of Americans over the age of 12 (24 percent) say they’ve listened to a podcast in the last month—the highest the survey has reported and nearly double the rate in 2013.
Done properly and strategically, podcasts can engage professional association members with a need to know. Podcasts deserve a place in your content strategy. Here are three associations who are doing it now:
National Association of Convenience Stores and its podcast, Convenience Matters
Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), The Premier Association of Financial Professionals
The American Society for Microbiology’s This Week in Microbiology is downloaded around 5,000 times the day it’s released. Convenience Matters, by the National Association of Convenience Stores, draws about 2,000 downloads a month. (Source: Associations Now)
